Our club meets at Peace Presbyterian Church (333 South 204th Street, Elkhorn, Nebraska 68022) on the second Thursday of the month, at 7:30 pm. We meet mostly in the winter months when we can't run the locomotives.
"Run Days" are when members of our club get together and run our locomotives, talk about trains, railroads and changes and improvements to our club and our railroad. Our run days are on the third Saturday of the month. Anyone is welcome to come and ride the trains and learn about our activities on these days. We also welcome anyone who has 7.5 inch gauge equipment to join us with their equipment.
Most of our locomotives are steam, however two of our members also have electric locomotives. Of the steam locomotives most are coal fired, but there are a couple of engines fired with propane.
It takes a lot of work to maintain even a railroad of our small size. We schedule our main work day as the first Saturday of the month. Members are encouraged to work any day they can. The track almost always needs maintenance. Leveling, lining, weeding and tamping. If in doubt about what needs to be done, contact Rick Weisgerber or Charlie Cook.
The
Camp Creek Threshers hold their annual Antique Tractor and Threshing Show the third full weekend in July.
During both days of the show, we run trains as a display only. State regulations prevent us from giving rides to the
public during this show. However, we encourage you to come to the show to see all the antique tractors, steam traction
tractors, threshing demonstrations and hundreds of other displays.
During the 3rd full weekend in September, Camp Creek Railroaders host a two-day Open House and Train Show.
Anyone with 7.5" equipment is invited to run with us, and the public is invited to come out and ride the trains and learn more
about our railroad.
